SONGWRITING MASTERCLASSES |
|
Do you need to be an
experienced songwriter to enroll in a 'Songwriting Masterclass'?
Nope. All levels, from beginner to pro, are welcome and
encouraged to participate. |
|
Do you need to be able to
play an instrument to enroll in a 'Songwriting Masterclass'?
Again, no. Just ask Elton's songwriting collaborator, Bernie
Taupin. No musical experience is required and poets and lyricists,
aspiring beginners or hardworking professionals, are more than welcome. |
|
Can I bring along an
instrument to play a song or work-in-progress? Definitely yes,
with the exception of bagpipes and banjos which will require a
'certificate of competency', signed by a professional. That was just a
joke, not mean to offend any bagpipe players. ;-) By all means bring
along an instrument, if you like; however, it is not required. And
please note, there will be at least one guitar and keyboard for
participants to perform their work on. Instructors will endeavor to find
time, over the two sessions, to listen to, at least, one work or
work-in-progress, of all participants in order to provide feedback;
however, performing is not a requirement for any participant. |
